Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a goalless draw in their first Monday League match against Kaizer Chiefs, played at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.
“The match was a good exercise for us and I think we played well considering the fact that it was our first match in the Monday League” said Zipho Dlangalala, who coaches the side.
Dlangalala also praised the PSL for coming up with the Monday League saying the league will play a crucial role in bridging the gap for players who don’t regularly get selected to play for the first team. He added that the league will also help in keeping the players match fit.
The match against Chiefs was played in front of a decent crowd in attendance.. Senior team Assistant Coach Harold Legodi was sitting in the bench alongside Dlangalala.
‘The Brazilians’ will play their next match against Moroka Swallows on Monday, 20 February 2012 at the Dobsonville Stadium. Kick-off for that match is at 15:30
